On April 11, 2025, the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) issued an official statement declaring two former students, Mr. Ransford Fosu-Boateng, also known as "Scammer Baby," and Mr. Raphael Appiah Owusu, as persona non grata on its campus.
According to university management, Mr. Fosu-Boateng had been dismissed on March 21, 2022, while Mr. Owusu’s dismissal took effect at the end of the 2023/2024 academic year. Despite being officially removed from the university’s roll, both individuals reportedly continued to unlawfully access residential halls, engage in disruptive behavior, harass students, and commit acts that threatened campus security and discipline.
The management further disclosed that the two were recently involved in an unauthorized gathering that led to vandalism and the destruction of university property. Their actions were captured and confirmed through the institution’s CCTV systems.
KNUST has emphasized that neither individual is recognized as a student of the university anymore and is strictly prohibited from accessing or being present on any part of the campus. Any presence on university grounds will be treated as trespassing.
Students have been strongly cautioned to avoid any form of association with the former students. The university warns that any current student found assisting, harboring, or enabling these individuals in any way will face strict disciplinary measures in line with university policies.
The university reaffirmed its commitment to upholding a safe, secure, and academically conducive environment for its community.
