President Mahama Assigns New Roles Following Tragic Helicopter Crash

In a swift response to a recent national tragedy, President John Dramani Mahama has made key ministerial appointments to ensure continuity in government operations. The President has directed the Minister for Finance, Hon. Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, to assume additional responsibilities as the Minister of Defence.

Similarly, Hon. Emmanuel Kofi Armah Buah, who currently serves as Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, has been appointed to oversee the Ministry of Environment, Science and Technology.

These temporary appointments come in the wake of the unfortunate death of the sitting Ministers for Defence and Environment, Science and Technology, who lost their lives in a helicopter accident en route to an official event in Obuasi.

The announcement was made by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Member of Parliament and spokesperson to the President, who also serves as the Minister for Government Communications.
