Ashanti Regional Council Urges Return of Items Taken from Helicopter Crash Site

The Ashanti Regional Co-ordinating Council (ARCC) has issued a public appeal following the recent helicopter crash that occurred on Wednesday, 6th August 2025. According to intelligence reports, some individuals who arrived early at the scene removed parts of the helicopter and other belongings.

The ARCC is calling on anyone in possession of such items—regardless of size or value—to return them immediately. These include even the smallest components, such as screws, metal fragments, drives, or boards.

Residents can hand over these items to the Unit Committee, Assembly Members, Municipal or District Chief Executives, or members of the investigating team present at the scene.

To encourage compliance, the Council is offering a cash reward to individuals who willingly return items by the close of Monday, 11th August 2025. However, anyone found holding onto these materials beyond that date will be treated as having committed a criminal offence and will face legal consequences.

The ARCC emphasizes that this directive is for the attention of the entire public.

–Hon. Dr. Frank Amoakohene, Ashanti Regional Minister
