GES Grants Optional Easter Break for SHS 2 Students Under Transitional Track

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced an optional Easter break for Form 2 students enrolled in Senior High and Senior High Technical Schools that operate under the Transitional Track system.

In a directive issued to all Regional Directors of Education on April 11, 2025, GES indicated that the break will commence on Thursday, April 17, and conclude on Monday, April 21, 2025.

The statement noted, “Students who wish to travel home and celebrate the Easter festivities with their families should be given the opportunity to do so.”

GES emphasized that the break is not compulsory. Students who prefer to stay on campus during the period will be allowed to do so and will remain under appropriate supervision.

Furthermore, GES stated that all students who choose to travel are expected to report back to school on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, to resume academic work without delay.

This arrangement aims to provide flexibility for students and their families to observe the Easter celebrations while maintaining the integrity of the academic calendar.
