National Service Authority Releases PIN Codes for 9,082 Trained Teachers

The National Service Authority (NSA) has announced the release of PIN codes for 9,082 trained teachers from 24 Colleges of Education across Ghana, marking the beginning of the registration process for the 2025/2026 National Service Year.

Out of the 16,159 trained teachers submitted by 36 Colleges of Education, 7,077 are yet to be uploaded due to the absence of required cover letters from their respective institutions. This means that their details cannot be processed by the Authority.

Notably, 5,336 students from institutions with expired accreditation are among the successfully uploaded trained teachers, while 3,746 students come from institutions with active accreditation recognized by the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC). This highlights a significant issue, as only 14 out of 36 Colleges of Education currently hold active accreditation with GTEC, leaving 22 institutions with expired accreditation.

Key Implications:

  • Registration Hold: Registrations by prospective personnel from institutions with expired accreditation will be put on hold until their accreditation status with GTEC is regularized.
  • Accreditation Renewal: The Authority urges affected Colleges of Education to promptly engage GTEC to renew their accreditation status.
  • PIN Code Activation: Affected students will not be able to activate their PIN codes until their institution's accreditation is regularized.

The NSA has provided a detailed list of affected Colleges of Education in Appendix A and those with current accreditation in Appendix B. Prospective service persons can access their PIN codes by logging into the NSA portal and proceeding with payment to activate their registration.
