The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration of Ghana has expressed deep concern over the mistreatment of Ghanaian visa applicants at various Embassies, High Commissions, and Consulates. In a formal statement, the Ministry highlighted several issues that require immediate attention.
Applicants are often forced to endure harsh weather conditions due to the lack of conducive waiting areas. Furthermore, credible reports indicate that applicants must wait for approximately six months to secure appointments. This excessive waiting period can cause significant inconvenience and distress for those seeking visas.
Additionally, the Ministry noted that there is no adequate provision for emergency services or support for applicants who encounter challenges with their applications or experience difficulties using online visa application platforms.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration urges all Diplomatic and Consular Missions accredited to Ghana to take necessary action to address these challenges. By providing improved services and support, these missions can help alleviate the difficulties faced by Ghanaian visa applicants.
This move by the Ministry aims to ensure that Ghanaian citizens receive fair and respectful treatment when applying for visas abroad.
