GES Announces Opening of School Selection Portal for BECE Candidates

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has officially notified all Heads of Junior High Schools across the country of the opening of the school selection portal by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC). This portal is intended for capturing and uploading the school choices of candidates who recently sat for the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

According to the circular dated July 24, 2025, the online portal will be accessible from Thursday, July 24 to Friday, August 8, 2025. During this period, Heads of JHS are expected to ensure that the school choices of their candidates are entered correctly and uploaded in a timely manner.

Private candidates who participated in the BECE are also required to complete their school selections online. They can do this by visiting (http://www.waecintersolutions.org) and logging in with their Index Numbers and Dates of Birth as their username and password, respectively.

In an effort to ensure the success of this exercise, all Metro, Municipal, and District Directors of Education have been urged to supervise and monitor the process within their jurisdictions. Examination Coordinators are to oversee the data entry to maintain accuracy and compliance.

Regional Directors have been tasked with circulating this information to all relevant schools through their district offices and ensuring the process is completed within the stipulated timeframe.

The communication was signed by Prince C. Agyemang-Duah, Director of the Schools and Instructions Division, on behalf of the Ag. Director-General of GES.
